Do you want to know how to set up TLS (1.2 & 1.3) on Microsoft Edge?

So in this article, I would like to explain in detail how to set up TLS (1.2 & 1.3) on Microsoft Edge.

If you are interested, I hope you will read to the end.

What is TLS?

TLS stands for “Transport Layer Security” and is a protocol for highly secure communications.

It provides functions such as public key authentication, shared key encryption communication, and hashing.

These functions prevent the risk of data exchanged between the sender and receiver being intercepted or spoofed by a third party.

TLS is commonly used for HTTP communications on websites.

It is particularly used for communications on pages where the contents must be kept confidential, such as logins and payments on e-commerce sites. It is also used as a protocol for email and file transfer.

Microsoft has discontinued the use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 and is recommending migration to the more secure protocol TLS 1.2 or later.

Let’s take a look at how to set up TLS (1.2 & 1.3) on Microsoft Edge.

Click on the Start menu and type “Control Panel” in the search field.

Click on “Internet Options”.

Select the “Advanced” tab and check “Use TLS 1.2” or “Use TLS 1.3”.

Click “Apply” and “OK” to enable TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3.

Restart Edge.

And you’re done.
